Classroom Descriptions

We truly believe that the classroom is where it all begins. The classroom is a place where the children are free to express themselves and learn about the unknown. At AOCA we work hard to make this a safe place or expression.

Early Learning

Ages Ages 1 -1. 5

Our 1 year old to 1 and half class room is the foundation to all of our classrooms. While students are permitted to enroll into our center at anytime we recommend starting here. Alphabet recogition, number recognition and  beginning sign langauge are just a few of the things we focus on in our early leaning department.

Early Learning

Ages 2-2.5

The two year old classroom is structured a little differently than our 1 year olds this is because at two we really begin to learn about a child's personality. In this classroom the instructors focus more on behavioral learning and activities that teach about morals and positive behavior. Abecca curriculum is used in this classroom and we continue teachig sign language and spanish in more detail.

Early Learning

Three years old

The three year old class or begining preschool classrom is where we began to teach about student responsibility and classroom manner. Lesson times are extended and homework is issued one time a week. The children will begin to sound out letters and speak in spanish sentences. We transition from memory songs to instruction driven worksheets. In our three year old classroom not only do we raise our expectations for our children but also for our parents.

Preschool Program

Ages 4-5

It is our guarantee that at the end of one school year in our Preschool program a child will have met each one of the Louisiana preschool benchmarks before entering kindergarten. It is proven that children who enter kindergarten prepared exude more confidence and have a better chance of moving to the next level.

At this level parents are required to attend a mandatory parent teacher conference twice a year for a status reports. Also parents are required to attend two PTA meetings a year.

We serve a God of excellence and we hold ourselves and students to that level.
